Pharmacological action and pharmacokinetics Troxerutin:

Venotonizing, angioprotective, anti-inflammatory, anti-edema, antioxidant.
It has P-vitamin activity, participates in redox processes, blocks hyaluronidase, stabilizes hyaluronic acid of cell shells and reduces their permeability.
Normalizes the permeability of capillary walls, increases their tone.
Increases the density of the vascular wall, reduces the exudation of the liquid part of the plasma and the diapedesis of blood cells.
Reduces exudative inflammation in the vascular wall, limits adhesion to its platelet surface.
In chronic venous insufficiency, use is recommended in both the initial and late stages of the disease. As a result of treatment, the feeling of gravity in the legs disappears, the swelling of the lower limbs decreases, and trophy improves.
In conditions characterized by increased vascular permeability and impaired structure, ascorbic acid is used in combination to enhance its effects.
It is well absorbed from the skin surface when externally used (gel).
When ingested, it is well absorbed from the GI. Histohematic barriers pass easily.
The maximum concentration of the preparation in plasma is created after 2 hours, the therapeutic concentration in plasma is maintained for 2 hours. Excreted by the kidneys and with bile during the day.

Indications Troxerutin:

Chronic venous insufficiency with manifestations such as
-static severity in the legs,
-ulcers of the lower leg,
-trophic skin lesions;
-varicose veins,
-surface thrombophlebitis,
-periflebitis,
-flebotrombosis,
-varicose dermatitis,
-postrombotic syndrome,
-hemorrhoidal nodes,
-postraumatic edema and hematomas,


Dosing mode

For topical use, a 2% gel is recommended, which is applied uniformly in a thin layer in the morning and evening to the affected area from distal to proximal, gently rubbing until completely absorbed into the skin. The Troxerutin gel can also be used to apply compresses.

Side action:

Allergic reactions (skin rash), erosive ulcer lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, headache.

Contraindications:

-expressed sensitivity, -ulcerative gastric and duodenal disease, -chronical gastritis (in the exacerbation phase), -bementia (I trimester), -lactation. Limitations to use: pronounced disorders of kidney function, childhood age up to 15 years, II and III trimesters of pregnancy.

Pregnancy and lactation:

The drug is contraindicated to be taken in the first trimester of pregnancy.
With particular caution - II and III trimesters of pregnancy.

Special instructions:

The gel is applied only to the undamaged surface and is not applied to open wounds

Gel Troxerutin should be avoided in the eyes and mucous membranes.
After applying the Troxerutin gel, it is necessary to avoid exposure of treated areas to sunlight.
