Instructions for Ciprolet (ciprofloxacin) 10 tablets

Description:

Ciprolet is an effective antimicrobial agent containing ciprofloxacin. It is used to treat infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to ciprofloxacin.

Clinical and pharmacological groups / Classification
Antibacterial drug belonging to the group of fluoroquinolones.

Main active ingredient
Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride.

Pharmacotherapeutic group Ciprolet

Antimicrobial agent.

Pharmacological effect Ciprolet

Ciprofloxacin is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial drug of the fluoroquinolone group. It has a bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial growth. The drug blocks the DNA gyrase enzyme, leading to disrupted DNA replication and cell protein synthesis. Ciprofloxacin is active against both multiplying microorganisms and dormant ones.

Ciprofloxacin is susceptible to the following:

Gram-negative aerobic bacteria: Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Citrobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Enterobacter spp., Proteus mirabilis, Proteus vulgaris, Serratia marcescens, Hafhia alvei, Edwardsiella tarda, Providencia spp., Morganella morganii, Vibrio spp., Yersinia spp.

Other gram-negative bacteria include Haemophilus spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Moraxella catarrhalis, Aeromonas spp., Pasteurella multocida, Plesiomonas shigelloides, Campylobacter jejuni, Neisseria spp.
Intracellular pathogens: Legionella pneumophila, Brucella spp., Chlamydia trachomatis, Listeria monocytogenes, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium kansasii, Mycobacterium avium-intracellulare.
Gram-positive aerobic bacteria: Staphylococcus spp. (S. aureus, S. haemolyticus, S. hominis, S. saprophyticus), Streptococcus spp. (St. pyogenes, St. agalactiae).
It is important to note that most staphylococcal strains that are resistant to methicillin are also resistant to ciprofloxacin.

Indications Ciprolet:

  • Ciprofloxacin is recommended for the treatment of infectious and inflammatory conditions provoked by microbes that exhibit susceptibility to this drug. The list of such diseases includes:
  • Respiratory tract diseases;
  • Infections in the ear, nose and throat;
  • Inflammatory diseases of the kidneys and urinary system;
  • Diseases of organs located in the pelvis;
  • Infections of the oral cavity, teeth and maxillofacial area;
  • Pathologies of the gallbladder and biliary tract;
  • Infections of the skin, mucous membranes and soft tissues;
  • Musculoskeletal system diseases;
  • Septic conditions;
  • Peritoneal inflammation.
  • The drug is also used for preventing and treating infectious complications in patients with a weakened immune system, in particular during immunosuppressive therapy.

Mode of application, course and dosage Ciprolet

The dosage of Cyprolet depends on the severity of the disease, type of infection, general health, age, body weight, and kidney function.
For uncomplicated urinary tract and kidney infections, 250 mg twice daily is recommended. The dosage can be increased to 500 mg twice daily for severe disease.
People with moderate lower respiratory tract infections should take 250 mg of Ciprolet twice a day, and those with severe forms should take 500 mg twice a day.
For the treatment of gonorrhea, a single dose of 250-500 mg is recommended.
For serious gynecological diseases, enteritis, colitis with fever, prostatitis and osteomyelitis, the dosage is 500 mg twice a day. A dose of 250 mg twice daily can be used to treat common diarrhea.
Tablets should be taken on an empty stomach, drinking enough fluids.
The duration of treatment is determined by the severity of the disease but should always be at least 2 days after symptoms disappear. Typically, treatment takes 7 to 10 days.
