Serenoa repens. Non-competitive inhibitor 5-alpha redictase type 1. Breaks the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone, which stimulates proliferation of prostate cells. It has anti-androgenic properties, which are selectively manifested at the prostate level. Does not cause changes in hormonal balance in the blood, does not affect the hypothalamo-hypophysis system. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect, reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins by inhibiting the activity of phospholipase A-2 and releasing arachydon acid. Reduces the permeability of capillaries and vascular stases, reduces swelling and inflammatory process in the prostate, eliminates the compression of the neck of the bladder and the urinary channel, improving the ukrainian indicators. Has anti-estrogen activity. Helps reduce the intensity of symptoms of benign prostate hyperplasia and reduce its size. Does not reduce potency in men, does not affect the level of PSA in the plasma blood.
